Powder Your Face With Sunshine

The Sisters Wilderness area consists of 242,000 acres, with numerous country roads that offer views of the cascades, mountain ranges in elevation from 2,000 to 10,358 feet. On a trip through Central Oregon I decided to take a detour and do a little more exploring in the Sisters Wilderness area, a region that I love to peruse. The Sisters wilderness is one of Oregon’s largest and most popular wild lands, located in the Willamette and Deschutes National forests, and is named for the Three Sisters Mountains.

I was keeping a very close eye on the weather and I knew that it might snow a few inches so I found a location, parked the “rig” and went to sleep, hoping that at sunrise I would see some snowfall on the sisters . I not only got the snow I was hoping for, I also found my truck and camper half buried in a couple feet of snow. Lucky for me I was well equipped because it continued to snow for several days, on the first clear day I went hiking. While I was out it began to snow again, fortunately I had brought an umbrella just in case this happened. When I came across this scene I was able to use the umbrella to shield myself and camera from the building blizzard-like weather and capture this splendid winter wonderland image
