Walking Down The Road

For years I have sought to capture an image of a pathway or road that leads into the forest, I enjoy when my photos guide a person into them. In Europe the alder tree is part of many legends, in some it is referred to as “The King of Fairies” It was said that fairies used the female Alder catkins (a long hanging furry cluster of tiny leaves and flowers without petals), to dye their clothes, which makes them invisible to human eyes. Maybe that is why I associate this image with enchanted forests and flights of fancy. As with all my photos I hope that the viewer is lured into an intermission from the stresses of everyday life, and takes a “stroll” down this forest road and happily disappears for awhile..
