Free Falling

This image was taken in Central Oregon. This beautiful 200 ft. waterfall cascades over a carpet of moss amongst the Douglas fir trees. It was a three mile hike round trip to get to this location and I had gone back seven years in a row waiting for the light to be just right. When I finally had the lighting I needed, I set up my tripod and camera in front of the falls. It was difficult to keep the mist from the falls off my camera, I had to stand in the very cold stream on slippery rocks and constantly wipe the water off of the lens. When I was done shooting I was cold, wet, and bruised from the rocks but it was well worth the risk.k.
