California Dreaming

This image was taken in Big Sur, California in October of 2003. I had to do a lot of rock climbing and cliff maneuvering to get this shot. To create the best composition I had to sit on the edge of a rock with my tripod across my lap. Many have said this image has a “painterly quality”. The slightly long exposure mixed with the rugged big Sur coastline created the soft movement of the water which appears almost like brush strokes.
